If I cared any less about the Bible, what it teaches, God, his purpose for us, the prophets, and any other 'religious' type crap I'd be dead.
The community, personal interactions, the hanging out thing, hubby, parents, extended family, friends, the click, the good times; that's what's important to me.
So I have to play the JW game to keep it all together, so it'll be. I'm quite good at it and, by the looks of it, many others trapped within have become quite experts at it themselves.

The JW way of life is all I have ever known, it speaks to me and I understand it fully.
In my complicated situation, I have grown accustomed to viewing/treating the WTBTS as a buffet, taking what I like and avoiding the rest. There is much to be liked and I choose to accentuate that, the very nice social interactions for example.
Good thing my mind is so well compartmenalized that I can find happiness this way. It works for me and so many others trapped inside.

It is not in my best emotional/financial/social interest to flee from the group. All the JWs (INO) I hang out with are very lovely people.

in the last few weeks it seems that instead of one or two new posters a week we seem to be getting several every day.
many seem to be long time jw's who are troubled by the path of the organisation.
this is really encouraging to those of us who have been here sometime.. welcome!
The "conscious class" is becoming a huge army these days. It is awesome!
The WTBTS is being cornered into change if they want to survive. In my Spanish cong people are just living their lives as they see fit, sending their young ones to college, etc.

keep coming back to see anything new, or do you look at posters who you know from experience have comments that will interest you?.
I roam through all subjects, many of which do not compel me to contribute thoughts. Can only hang out here when I feel absolutely of not being found out.

Dreamy for sure, but not realistic. Men have quite the exquisite pick, not the sisters as there are like 20 to 1 ratio; I feel so sad for so many in my Spanish cong that would love to find a JW mate, but there is nothing available.

He will be removed as an elder, surprising he hasn't been already, under the predicament of how can he direct the flock when he cannot even direct his household efficiently.
Many like you and I are trapped in due to not wanting to lose family and friends. You are brave, though; most of us just continue to fake it and it is quite taxing mentally at times. Congratulations on your courage.
